Oak Grove Rhythm Retreat (hosted by One Tribe)

One Tribe is happy to announce the inaugural rhythm retreat in partnership with our friends at Oak Grove Retreat in Tarboro! April 14-16,2023
We are planning an amazing, immersive weekend of sound and movement featuring Lipbone Redding, Carolyn “Caroleeena” Mabry and One Tribe. Our mission is for all to come and enjoy workshops in basic rhythm techniques using a multitude of instruments as well as low impact dance and flow movement (did I mention fire-spinning!?). We will have activities through the day and a chance to use what you’ve learned through the night with performances, collaborations, and open jams by the fire!
To register, go to https://tinyurl.com/oakgroverhythmretreat.
“Early Early Bird” ticket price is $150 through 4/1/23.
Regular ticket price is $180.
Dry camping is included with registration (local hotel rooms are available for purchase; discount info coming soon).
Meal plan available for $45.
Members of One Tribe will lead workshops, with additional sessions by David Orovitz, Ronnie Pulley, and Craig Richardson. Drumming workshops, drum building and maintenance demo, playing a variety of percussion instruments, flute circle, low-impact West African dance, fire dance safety overview, fire dance/fire spinning and hoop dancing workshops, guided plant walks, Tai Chi, morning dance and yoga nidra with Lipbone, and more!
This retreat is for all skill levels to enjoy. If any workshop is not for you, no problem. There are plenty of sights to be seen by going on a walk through the woods or taking in some time with fellow participants and enjoying each other’s company. We want everyone to have fun, experience what they want to and get away for a weekend with other like-minded folks.
In love and gratitude,
Kevin, Trish, Lipbone & One Tribe
